Job Security Vs. Personal Freedom
Most people are taught to look for job security. The average person works for an earned income, forty hours a week for 40 years. This does not leave much time for your "life". People often work long hours because they feel their job, or their regular paycheck, gives them security.
Do you feel if you stopped working, there would be no way to cover your monthly expenses? Do you wake up every morning, dedicating your time to building someone else's dream of becoming financially independent? You are literally minding someone else's business!
This so called security does not really exist, it is just an illusion. It is an idea of the industrial age that does not apply very well to the information age.
By accepting your job security, or regular paycheck, as your whole solution, you put yourself in a bad position. Your mind shuts off, and you no longer search for other solutions…you stop learning.
When you rely on it to the point that it prevents you from learning, your safe secure job becomes a system of dependency. All systems of dependency encourage people to shut off their brains.
Ultimately, learning allows you to gain more control and empowers you to improve your plan as you go. The truth shall set you free, but it is up to you to seek that knowledge. It is a decision to change your focus.
Many people decide to focus on security instead of focusing on securing their personal freedom from the system that exists. By focusing on securing your personal freedom, you eventually realize that your true focus is on gaining your financial independence.
Persistent learning with this new focus will open up more possibilities than you realize at this point. When you gain your financial independence, time is still your most important asset. Your new personal freedom greatly increases the quality of that time.
